I don't know about you, but when the kids get their pumpkins every October, I dread the aftermath of the carving. You know what I mean, the slow decaying process of the pumpkin after they have been carved. Sadly, I didn't realize there was anything you could really do to keep the pumpkin from taking this descent, besides keeping them cool by placing them outside. However, yesterday, I was reading Rachael Ray's Everyday magazine and I found there IS a solution! The article says that if you sprinkle ground cinnamon on all exposed parts of the pumpkin, it will naturally preserve it! And they mentioned how good it smells when you place a candle in the pumpkin, because it gives off a pumpkin pie smell! Mmmm! :)
Anybody else have Halloween tips?
